A substantial North China “Golden Book” recording approximately 200 distinguished Chinese and foreign residents of the region, including eminent statesmen, administrators, physicians, lawyers, scientists, officials, journalists, explorers, former imperial dignitaries, and leading figures in diplomatic, religious, educational, industrial, commercial, and literary circles.

The volume is issued in two parts: the first (about one-third) newly compiled for the Tongku–Tangshan–Qinhuangdao–Shanhaiguan industrial belt; the second (about two-thirds) incorporating previously published pages from the Golden Books of Peiping, Paoting, Shihkiachuang, Chengtehfu, and Chahar, forming a composite regional Who’s Who of northern Chinese urban elites.

Entries are arranged one per page in the characteristic deluxe Golden Book format, with decorative borders, titles and appointments, and photographic portraits; a number additionally record contemporary addresses and telephone numbers.

Printed on thick paper and extending to 200 pages (approx. 8 cm thick). No copy traced in WorldCat or standard institutional catalogues; likely a privately distributed commemorative publication and extremely rare.

Minor tearing at the gutter of the title leaf; final leaf detached; light soiling; one portrait excised. Overall good.
