According to the preface by Yan Esheng, the founder of the Xinsheng News Agency, this work was compiled during the Sino-Japanese War as part of the Chinese people’s effort to boycott Japanese goods and preserve national memory. Edited by the Shanghai International Commercial Research Society, it records 1,200 Japanese trademarks, covering approximately 3,000 product names across 65 categories. Produced using photographic plates and arranged in classified lists, it comprehensively documents Japanese trademarks registered with the Nationalist Government and legally applicable within China, making it an important primary source for the study of wartime economic resistance, trademark practice, and Sino–Japanese commercial relations.
